The last thing Im saying is that it wont take that much for your friend to beat that Dodge-even easier if its not a Homo I mean a Hemi. Gears need to be tackled if it is a street race if its at the 1/4 mile track he could keep the 3.42 and spray the **** out of it! Just a thought. 3k could get him gears, posi, stall, headers,a bad *** n20 setup and some money to bet with!

My '02 ECSB 4.8 Silverado could beat the quad cab Hemis and stay with the standard cab ones. All it had was the HPP3, Flowmaster 70, 160* stat, 3.73 posi and K&N filter.

I find it hard to believe that with those mods you can make up for 60hp difference between you're motor and the hemi's, not to mention the weight difference in a reg. cab....

I just bought a Dodge Hemi Ram Quad Cab and it is the first Dodge I have owned. We had the LQ9 in our Caddy and the power is definately comparable. GM appears to have the edge in over all tuning of the drivetrain, but I find it hard to believe that a 4.8L can pace or beat a Hemi with your mods. We will probably go back to GM on the next truck, but the Hemi is the real deal and runs very well(runs my buddies 5.3L 2001 Silverado pretty easily).

Oh, ours is a 3.92:1(stock) geared 2wd, so that definately helps it a bit.

Hemi's are overrated, they dyno 250 rwhp, with exhaust and intake 260ish, my silverado rcsb 5.3 dynoed 255 rwhp with a programmer, ud pulleys, intake and exhaust and has a 500-600 pound weight advantage. About a month I will be hitting over 300 rwhp, I dont think they will be competition anymore.

TheOtherDodge...yeah, I usually beat stock LS1's by about 3 cars but I was talking about my Camaro lol. My friends truck is no where close to my car.

My point was I've spent around 1600$ on my car to gain those 3 cars lenths over stock and someone was saying that he could probably beat that dodge now that he has the programmer. He paid 100$ for it used. So we both get the same gains but I have to pay 1500$ more "Yes I realize mine was alot faster to begin with lol"

To everyone else. Thanks guys. I'll probably have him start with the small stuff and work his way up. He was telling me today he wants to get a 160* thermo. I'm trying to talk him into some gears. After that it will probably be cold air induction, ported throttle body, and headers. Then cam, stall and tunning.

He will NOT put n20 on his truck. I've begged. He's trying to sell his old truck for 3500$ and says that he will put whatever he gets for it into his new truck but I highly doubt this.

I'm not sure if its open or limited slip. He says that both tires always spin but I was behind him one day when he tried to hot break it. It wouldn't spin till he let off the break and then I think only the right side spun.

I don't think I've mentioned before and I'm not sure if it makes much differance but they race sign to sign and its slightly farther than a 1/4th. I can hit about 120 in my Camaro. I think they are hitting 95 or so.

Someone asked about where I live. Its a small town called Sarepta about an hour north of Shreveport. Almost on the Arkansas state line.

With my mods except n20 I can beat any Hemi. The reg cabs I see run like 15.9-16.1 in hot weather and I saw a modded quad cab hemi run 16.1-16.3 last night! So a stock 4.8 ec I dont think can beat any Hemi! Maybe a stock quad but Im not sure!

Yep. I'm not going to get into a pissing match with anyone about it, but this is the truth. Maybe I had a factory freak. I believe the difference was in the fact I had my shift points higher and was running on 16" wheels.
