I want a 4.8 cause nobody else wants them so should be dirt *** cheap. Also the short stroke will generate less torque and not be so inclined to break crank, trans, rear, etc. Top end only for me, just like a honda

So what should I pay and where to get one w/o shipping?

i have a complete 4.8 i would sell. it is an 03 with 50,000 miles. $500+shipping(less than $200 to ship)

Someone said something about 5.3s and cranks. Is the only difference between the 5.3 and 4.8 the crank? Do they have the same connecting rods and pistons and all the same bits attached to the rotating assy.?

Oh wait I remember hearing something about 4.8s having flattop pistons and 5.3s being dished.

other than the pistons and crank the 4.8 and 5.3 are the same.

Don't forget about the rods. The 4.8's are longer than the 5.3's
