4.8L throttle sticking
Sorry in advance if this has been asked repeatedly. I did a search and came up empty-handed.....
I've read about others elsewhere on the web that have had this problem....my throttle sticks at idle after starting the truck. After I stab the accelerator, the problem goes away and does not happen anymore while driving. If I stop and shut off the engine, then the throttle sticks again when I go to restart the engine. I notice it more during short trips. Is this covered as a recall? I've cleaned the trottle body several times without any improvement. The cable doesn't appear to be frayed or binding, and there isn't anything in the way of the accelerator pedal.
Just curious as to what others have experienced.....

Take the tube off that goes to the air filter and open the TB up by pulling the linkage. Clean around the edge where the butterfly(i think) hits the TB and it will go away. This will be a re occuring problem unless you disconnect the EGR.

The 99 and early 00 had a recall from the sticking throttle bodies.I had mine replaced on my 99,and my dad had his replaced on his 00.The good thing about them is they replace the whole throttle body sensors and all.If you know the dealer real well they might give you the old throttle body,I got mine.
Seem the problem was misalignment on the machining, the butterfly rubs the side of the bore until it gauds up.I think they will still replace it,if they don't take it off.Take the 2 torx heads screws out of the butterfly and take the shaft out.Take some 400 grit sand paper, spray a little wd40 around the shaft bores and sand it a little.Smooth it back out, might want to hit the sides of the butterfly too.Just put it back together.Hope this helps.
