I have a 14" long 4" magnaflow in front of the edelbrock 4" muffler and it's fairly quite and no drone. Before it was a little more raspy, but I like this.

I do not have one, but my edy muffler is freaking huge, bigger then that, my truck is still fugn loud. Your not going to get a quiet muffler that uses a strait through design..

78 decibels in the cab, while cruising at highway speed(steady cruise on flat ground) is absolutely rediculous after 20-30 minutes. There is surely something out there that doesn't droan as bad as this AFE muffler. If I'm under the truck and bang on the muffler case with my fist, it echoes...... I'd expect a thud instead, but nope.

The truck sounds great at idle, and sounds extreme at WOT, it's actually kind of fun. I'm surprised that I've never been pulled over for how loud it is. But the droan must go. I don't expect it to be quiet.

Roger, did you ever try a smaller muffler in front of it? There should be room just behing the torsion bar crossmember. That stopped the drone in my 3" system.

My 4" exhaust is too close to the body to fit a muffler there. The length is good, but where the 4" passes thru between the crossmember & body, it only has 1/4" gap (top & bottom).

Anyone know if that 4" Borla muffler someone mentioned earlier might fit? I might be all over that!

While I'd like a 3" true dual system with an X pipe, I wondering if I can build a semi-quiet single 4" and save a few bucks...maybe even a little weight as well.

I got a 2.5 18" magnaflow with my setup, its great on the highway but has a rasp and pop to it that i cant stand. I'm really wanting to get a 3" on there with the new 6.0. I got a 40 series 3in dual out flowmaster but i'm afraid the rasp would only get worse if i put it on.

Hmm, the Borla is an oval case, larger body....... However, it's $400........

I'm not spending that kind of coin without some first-hand feedback.

Looking that one up right now, thanks. Did you ever find a sound clip?
