Why not??? You have something to prove that it isn't true?

I thought that I remembered reading a thread where a guy claimed 40+ rwhp from the Comp Cams 212/218, but I've done a search and can't find it.

Anyone remember the details?

In that case I better quit <img border="0" alt="[boring]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_zzz.gif" /> and get to <img border="0" alt="[driving]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_driving3.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[burn out]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_burnout.gif" /> !! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Well i'm not saying that it is not possible, but I don't think with a stock compression, stock displacement engine it is possible...that means the motor would pick up almost 60 hp at the crank...And that just does not happen on stock motors....Not to bust your bubble....so what your saying is a stock ls1 with a cam will make 360 at the wheels....just don't believe it will happen....

No, this was not exactly a stock motor. It had some bolt-ons, which could allow for better airflow through the motor. It seems a little high, but it's not from some joe-schmoe that I've never heard of before.

Not arguing, just curious. I showed a buddy of mine the original thread and he said that there wss NO WAY that a cam could make 60hp at the crank.

Hmmmm, any other opinions on this?

The stock cams on these trucks are just wayy too damn small. If 01 ls6 cams have given 30+rwhp on a few different occasions then why not more from a cam with something like 7* more total duration?

Really slow remember that the heads are the secret, What good is it to put a big cam when the head can't flow with the cam....I have been doing motors and racing for many yrs and it has happened but it was on really modded motors....You hear all these wonderful numbers being said, and this and that will do this, but it never seems to be true...If it did or does alot more people rides would be alot faster....I'm just saying don't believe what evryone says...Do the home work and get a good plan...Don't believe the Hype....We are going to try a new camshaft in Kev's motor and see what happens, i think we can pick up a few more ponies but i guess we will see....We have a good set of cylinder heads to work with....Nothing takin by your thought Really slow Dump truck...lol

man, if your gonna make fun of my name u at least need to make it funny <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

seriously though, i agree on not believing everything people say. But I personally would tend to do so when it comes from a shop as reputable as TR.

judging by the specs on the cam i ended up going with on my engine i think its pretty safe to say i didnt follow the herd though... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
