Yea that is how I used to think. I liked the loud flashy **** but now there is every advantage to having a sleeper.

Was trying to fit an x pipe before the muffler as well but it doesn't look like i have room. Looks like I will put an H pipe right before the muffler and two of the summit glasspacks upstream from that. Seems like that should do the trick but we will see

Fatmat off ebay, 1.50 a square foot, cuts down on a tone of exhaust drone. Granted im not running a stroked motor or anything like that, but with factory motor on a flowmaster is barely audible at all inside my truck anymore.
Just an idea, wont quiet the exhaust down, but itll quiet how much of it you hear from inside the truck

I already have dynamat in the interior of my truck. I can't imagine what it would sound like without it! haha

keep us posted. I have a 383 stroker motor and looking to do something similar. I'm currently running dual 3" straight pipes to the factory 2-in 1-out muffler. The sound level is perfect, but I think the single 3" reduction is hurting performance.

Before working over my motor I had a 2 in 2out flowmaster. Upon startup, after everything was installed, it blew the baffles out!
My builder replaced the flow with two shorties(cherry bombs?)that flow well but are too loud for talking on the phone, ordering burgers etc so I'm going to replace them w/true duals like the shorties.

Yea I will keep you guys posted.

I think it is just loud because of how big the exhaust is and how short the pipes have to be in a RCSB. Hopefully I can get the mufflers in next week. I was supposed to go home this week but plans changed. Like said, I will keep it updated.
