I had all 8 hitting the windage tray. I used the ARP washers and silver nuts. You need to get those! The washers are extra thick and the nuts are kinda special in their own way.

Well I went and found the nuts I need at Ace, got some washers too to space the windage tray, everything looks good. Had to do some work on the pickup tube to get it to work with the double-roller timing setup, got that taken care of. Got the oil pan and heads on, rear front and valley covers, put the sensors back in and put the motor back in the truck. I think I'm done for tonight.

Two problems I am now facing. I bought 7.4" pushrods, I need 7.3's. I have too much preload now. Won't be getting the truck started this weekend unfortunately. The other problem I already mentioned, is the keyed crank. I either need to find a keyed pulley or have a groove machined into my pulley. I'll have to take care of that next week as well. But - I can get everything else buttoned in the meantime, and just be waiting for a crank pulley and pushrods

You should be able to put your damper pulley on, just don't use the key.
