damn man that sux. rays rod bearings did that after he overreved when he broke on a 175 shot. how long did it sit before it was ran?

Good news is the cylinder walls look good. I am going to pull the top end tonight. Still havent gotten those rod backs off...

Could you do us a favor and make the pics a little smaller in Photobucket so that we don't have to scroll left and right? I know it's not at the top of your list, but it sure would be swell of ya.

Oh, I always resize them to 1400 width which leaves plenty of space on mine...what monitor res are you using?

You see people all the time buying a crate motors and pulling it apart to check clearances, unfortunately you didn't and this is what can happen.It may have been in spec and been something else that caused the issue but you will never know. Defiantly do a full tear down and check every single clearance. Replace every bearing from crank to cam.
You have enough money invested already so there is no smart reason to skimp out on 1% of total cost to replace everything.

Man, sorry to see this, but it could be a lot worse. From the pics, the crank looks clean, but definitely have it checked and polished.

Sucks that you lost it so quick. I was pretty upset when I blew mine with less than 500 miles so I know how it feels.
