408 on the way, what hp/tq to expect?

WIth a big enough cam, the compression wouldn't be a problem. I'm shooting for 12:1 and plan on a healthy dose of nitrous too. Not sure on how much yet, but anywhere from 100-200 might make it's way there. I think in a 2 stage setup, it would be OK.

I've lived on a STOCK 4L80e so far ... knock on wood, and haven't had any problems.

That's what I had when I had the blower on too.

Yah I like my little progressive controller briles!

Not to hate or nothin but I wouldnt do much **** talkin on a serious note to the cobra, if his ***** ever drop to race ya it would be a close. The L wont touch you on motor. I beat him by half a truck not spraying threw my shifts. 100 shot!

But even with your 1 wheel peel and the slicks you need to come get aholt of him with the 4.8l before the 408 goes in.

Racing on the 4.8 is done, they'll get what's coming to them with the 408. What does the cobra run? I'm pretty sure that the Hauler could easily handle the Lightning even with one wheel peel but there is no reason to risk breaking something this close to time for the swap. I know that Deron's Cobra is like the hometown hero, but who has he beat or run? The T/A beat him on motor if I remeber correctly so he will definetly need more than that. The Hauler's 408 is gonna be a bit stronger and quicker on just motor than he is with spray right now, then add a 200 shot to that. With spray he probably runs 12.50-12.70's hooking good so with a 408 + 200 shot the cobra is gonna have it's hands full.

Where are you guys racing at over there?I know they used to race at Carlisle back in the 60s and 70s.

You will find that cam to be WAAAYYYY too small. Rhino I told you that when you sent me a PM long ago about cam choice. In my HEAVY as truck compared to his along with a t-case and everything else to spin, even in 4hi on DRY concrete I would spin all four for 10-15 feet on MOTOR how do you think his truck is going to do with more useable power down low and ALOT less weight and in 2wd I dont care if has a 4-link and 30" slicks it is going to be fun launching on the street and that is the understatement of the century.

Yeah I know I probably should've picked a bigger cam, but running the stock intake and TB, I wanted to pick a cam that would compliment that setup instead of picking one that will pull to 6800-7000, cause I think the truck intake is going to give out at about 6500. I just thought that that cam would make more useable power......traction is definetly going to be fun but that is a good problem to have!
