The link is not working now?

Personally, I'm thinking it's a freak... Those car guys that are on Sunday mornings on TNN or whatever ran a LS1 on an engine dyno, and pulled close to 400hp with a cam and an LSX intake. Maybe more mods, but I forget. It was running big long headers too, and I don't recall seeing any accessories.

One thing I'm curious about - Why the heck don't these motors put down more torque when modded? At the peaks you see a jump of 74hp, but only 24ft/lbs?

Is it because the HP is just coming from the extended rev's of the motor?

well that's gross HP so what are you guys concerned about? gross is about 125% of net power, so with 429 gross that would be 322 fwhp NET.

Sure ya have - Twin turbo 383 GN's, ATI procharged 427's, etc. pushing out over 1000 hp is pretty friggin gross, errr, sick.....

Gross hp is engine hp with NO accessories, Net is with all the accessories on but no transmission.....there's NO WAY all the accessories draw 25%

have you ever tried turning an alternator by hand?

Not to 6000rpm.....but everyone I've ever worked with spins pretty freely
