Default 496 w/ a 4l80e in a denali

Ok I'm more or less looking to see if this is posible or not. Since the 6.0 comes w/ the 4l80e and 4l60e and the 496 comes w/ a 4l80/85e does this mean a 496 will bolt up to a 4l60e. I know it sounds stupid 2 pair a big block w/ such a weak transmition but here's my delema. My heart is set on a used silver sierra denali, but i have plans that invlove a 496 transplant (can't give up the BB). I don't know 100% about hood cleanrance but having a custom fiberglass hood wouldn't bother me. I've seen to many problems w/ 4wd launches and i think awd in the denali makes the best steetable option. While i want to run the truck at the track, street performance is my main goal. The reason i don't think the 4l80e will work with the denali is the awd transfercase is deisgned fer the physical size of a 4l60e. The 496 is going to be forged w/ arizona speed and marine intake manifold and ported heads, not sure what cam. It still a toss up between twin turbos or intercooled whipple supercharger. I think the induction will b decided when i total up the rest of the cost. So with all this in mind do you think its even possible to build up a 4l60e to take the punishment. I'm guessin that it would b puting out about 550-600 hp if not more. If not is there any way to bolt a 4l80e up to the awd transfer case of a denali

The 8.1 won't bolt up to a 4L60E... even if it could I wouldn't do it. I dunno if it would actually fit in the 1/2 ton frame of the Denali. I'd peep at a 2500 series Suburban to see how everything works.

IF the 8.1 will fit, I'd get the 4L80E behind it and figure out the transfer case. There is an AutoTrac T-Case for the 4L80E (Yelo has one) so you could keep the 4x4 too.

I know its been done to two trucks, both reg cab shorties. one of them is a 496/4l80e and the other is a 496/allison. As far as i know they are both 2wd's so i don't know if awd/4wd would take up vital room.

ya 'd like to think that. My dads got a shop w/ jacks, engine lift, mig welder, and most of the tools i need. I'd prob draw the line when it starts getting above 30k. I don't think this will all happen at once but i'd like to spread the cost over a couple years with the forced induction happening at the end.
