The 5.3 flex-plate has a curve to it. The outside edge is beveled beack towards the engine if I remember right. The 6 flex plate is flate with a spacer on the crank side of it.
Scream ... measure it before you get the driveshaft shortened. The trans are the exact same length. I got a new trans yoke put on my driveshaft and test fit it. The guy that did the yoke said there is about 3/4 of an inch of play there, mine came back out of the trans about an inch and a half, meaning I was passed my 3/4 inch play mark. He says it's ok though, so I will run it like it is. I originally took it in to him to have him lengthen it up a little, but he told me that it would be OK. I feel like he was really being honest since he could have gotten more of my money for doing the work but told me that it wasn't needed.

Ok I have my 5.3/4l60 set up in the truck. Since my 422 is a 6.0 block why cant I just bolt a 4l80 up to it and go. So besides a TC and a 6.0 flexplate what else do I need? different cooler lines?

The hardest part is locating the used parts and getting the crossmember fixed for the further back mounting point.
You should plan to spend about 2000-3000 if you can get the tranny for about 1200. This includes a new torque converter.
Red, the bellhousing bolt pattern is the same. The only reason it wouldn't bolt up is because of the flex-plate, even then, it will, but you really need to have the right flex-plate.
I think I am going to look at some lines ... I haven't gotten them. I was just going to extend them out, but I don't like how close they are to the header.
