4L80E swap for the 4L60E?

Huh? Can you clarify what you are trying to tell me...
A fully build 4L80E is good to 1200hp or so. A 4L60E is good to maybe 750hp. Big difference. Granted the 4L80E has a shitty 2.40:1 1st gear, a $600 low gear set gives you about a 2.78:1 1st gear which isn't too bad.

What i'm saying is The 4L80E trans is bigger and would have a heavier rotating mass then a 4L60 trans. I'm sure a 4L80 trans can be built for 1200hp but who is gonna run that much power in a truck anyway. I don't know why you would wanna swap a heavy duty trans for a light duty trans unless it was for weight.

I don't see how a fully race-prepped 4L60E will hold ported/polished heads, decent cam, and a MagnaCharger. You are talking well over 500rwhp maybe more.
I'd rather have a trans that can take the abuse and keep on running and not break. That way if I feel the need for more power (which I am sure I will) it will take it.
