Default 4l80e trannies on eBay???????????

Ok I did a search on ebay for 4l80e and there was about 10 or so on there but are these relaible? There were a couple that came out of trucks with problems but most of them were from like Phoenix remfg transmissions and palces like that. Are thes "remfg" trannies ok or should I look for a actual GM one from a truck or what. Thanks for the advise. Also is there a company like Century(I wouldnt use them after what I saw this week with our fellow member) that makes a decent 4l80e?

I bought my 2000-model 4L80-E using EBay and rebuilt it myself. Definately do not consider any model older than 1999. There were many design changes that year. Another round of changes took place in 2001, but 99 was the big one.

Get the manuals and do it yourself if you have the time. Rebuilt kits are cheap and you can put in any clutches you want to.

Got from this:

to finally this:

...in just over a month. Go for it.

Well Im not too experienced with ebay stuff, but if you like piece of mind I would recomend getting one from Jaspers. They are remanufactured, but their customer service and warranty is amazing. Heres my experience with them. I called and told them what I had done to the truck and how much power it had. So they sent me the best built 4l60 they had. It didnt hold up, so I called them and they upgraded me to a 4l80 for $180. About 2 weeks later I got the 80e installed and thats when the driveshaft blew up on the dyno and broke the bellhousing off. Well I called and told them what happened and they got me another 80e out here that week for no charge. They have a 3 year 75k mile warranty. So theres my opinion.

I found mine on www.car-part.com, and it was much cheaper than eBay.
