Default 4l80e tranny

What can you do to a 4l80e tranny to hold up to about 700 hp. any comments

A stock 4L80E should hold up to 700hp.

i have a stock 80 other than a shift kit. i will be finding the limit of this one but have heard 700rwhp isn't unheard of. we will see.

is that a question? i would say no problem but put a 200shot on there and who knows. the good thing is if you do have to get it built you will only have to do it once and it will take anything then. not many people advertize built 4l80e's but i know chuck at flp will do one for ya and cmotorsports will too.

Parish8 will be running one with his 408 turbo setup pretty soon all he's running is a shift kit and a converter.I bet it holds up and Parish is not known for being easy on transmissions.

to convert my 4l60e to a 4l80e, what is envolved, i will be putting in a 409 using 6.0l block and taking out my 5.3l

parish8,

when you decided to use a 4l80e tranny, did you consider the turbo 400 instead. I talked to a guy on the web and he suggested the turbo 400. What are your comments on it.

I wouldn't go TH400 if you plan to drive on the street.It's 3 speeds with no overdrive,no lockup converter and no provision for an electronic speedometer.
