4T80E performance trany?????
I met an old guy on vacation here that said he worked for GM Powertrain and he told me about some 4T80E trany. I've never heard of this before, but he was even wearing a jacket that said "The all new 4T80E Hydromatic, a whole new level in performance."
Has anyone heard of this trany, or know anything about it?
This guy was like 70+ years old, and was very vauge about answering questions about it. His most common answer was, you'll see soon enough.
Could this be the mystical 4L80E with the same gear ratios as the 4L60E?
Maybe i should have bribed him with some ensure and viagra.

THe GM trannies are labeled xLxx or xTxx, like 4L80 and 4T80. The L is for longitudinal mounted, the T is transaxle trannies.
Maybe he thought you were in some prototype FWD truck ....
