4WD launching/weight/tranny swap questions

Yeah Parish I was thinking a pretty high stall would help his situation alot. The 2 step idea is probably the ticket. Man I'd like to see that truck launch then. Parish do you have any godo videos of your truck launching down the quarter?

i have been thru exactly what he is going thru.
first it was bucking, then let down the tortion bars and that helped. eventualy you get enough power that it lifts the front up anyways and bucks again. that leads me to the front suspension limiters. my truck now just lifts a little and then peals out prety smoothly. here is a vid. https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...ghlight=launch

I am pretty sure I am closer to 3k RPM when boosting but I have so much other stuff to concentrate on that I honestly havn't looked.
My new combo will probably be much easier to launch on, well build boost on anyway.
370ci 6.0L
GT67 with .96 A/R or GT70
4l80E with new converter (3000-3200most likely)
I am most likely gonna stick my old wet kit on the truck too and see if I can't sneak into the 10s.
I know with the nitrous I am going to be in the same boat Jim is now. I'll have to do the limiters (thank god you figured that out for us) and some better tires.

Have any of you guys with turbo trucks tried switching out the crappy vacuum-assist brake booster for a hydraulic one? Awesome upgrade to the brakes. Even with huge boost or a cam that barely pulls vacuum at idle the brakes work twice as well as the stock system, and the pedal is always much more firm.

Here's a picture of it on the Tahoe:
