Yes, all the LSx series engines (5.7ls1, 4.8, 5.3, 6.0) can experiance the same issues. There's really no kit to make a 5.3 into a 6.0. What people mean when they say to swap to the 6.0 is, they want you to take out the 5.3 and but a 6.0 and put it in your truck.
This, to me, is not cost effective when you can fix the existing engine.

So your sayin i should replace the lifters and guides. Even on a motor with 100k. I mean i guess its possible considering the truck has no loss is power really, it just sounds like a pos. Where can you purchase the guides and lifters through gm only?

Torque Wrench,
In this situation, is there a updated lifter and guide design that engines with this issue would benefit from? IE: LS7, LS6, L33? Part numbers? Are these any different in design from the lifters / guides from a LS1(5.7l), LM7(5.3l), LR4(4.8l), LQ4/9(6l/6l H.O.)? Ahhh, to be free of annoying engine noise.

How much of a pain is it to install these? Say i was gonna keep the 5.3 and build it up what would be a good setup for a good lowend midrange powerplant. i like to play offroad and pull alot so.. And the same for a 6.0 what kinda stuff should i be lookin for.. Sorry for all the questions just trying to weigh my odds and get some good insights thanks to all who have helped so far
