Ok, from the sounds of it, the easy answer is to put a new crank in? Does anyone have a source where I can buy a new 6.0 crank?

Thanks,
Will

No way to make it fit. Several have tried, none have succeeded. If its a daily driver, you might be up a creek.

I would have a qualified shop do the crank swap if thats your choice. As stated, same stroke in both motors. Rods and pistons from 6.0 will work with the 5.3 crank. May need to be rebalanced if the weight is very different.

4L80 would be even more difficult. Minor wiring difference, PCM is programmed differently, driveshaft length, crossmember is different, transfer case may not have correct shaft, etc...

Ok, now I'm thinking of doing some other stuff while inside. Does anyone make a stroker kit for a 6.0?

Thanks,
Will

I agree, if you need to swap the crank, might as well put in a stroker rotating assembly. Gains should be incredible over your old 5.3 if you stroke that 6L.

I have always wondered if another solution to this problem might be to have a custom torque converter built for the '60e that has a shorter overall height to make up for the longer crank? Might be worth calling Precision or somoeone and asking if this is feasible.

yay but even if they made a verter that would work the 6.0 would trash it eventually. and oh man if you are going to do an 80e swap. i vote rotating assembly as well. but in the end the 60e isnt going to hold even when built.

It sounds like to me you should just do the 80e swap now, you will be doing it later anyway?
