you can get L33 pistons which are flat top, not forged but then you might want to look for a set of 243 heads to keep compression in the 10:1 area, milled for a little higher CR.

Everyone here knows the little 5.3 rocks

Look at Mahle or Wiseco for some forged slugs for your motor. Mahle's are pretty inexpensive if you end up boring it.

Personally I'd skip the 243s on a stock bore 5.3 if all you're after in higher compression.

Chente, You don't need forged pistons for your "Frankeinstein 50 shot" that drops you 1.3 sec's and takes you to 12.1, unless you plan on running your "Frankeinstein 100 shot" JFWY.

FWIW, I beleive only weisco has a true off the shelf forged pistons for the 4.8/5.3 Bore.

Everyone else requires a custom order and the prices are almost double. How ever if they have finally steped up and do make an off the shelf piston, please do let us know.

Bore that sucker out to 5.7 - your piston selection goes up exponentially, and no one's the wiser.
