A tune.

Headers, supercharger, turbo. All those are options.

And if you plan to exceed 100mph, you must buy a new driveshaft. The factory aluminum shafts are known to explode at speeds above 100.

2nd a tune first

exhaust and nice intake will make decent power and sound good.

the next level would be a cam, converter, forced induction..

Ok I'll get a tune first . Which intake are you referring to ? Cold air intake or intake manifold ? I have an LS6 intake lying around here somewhere . I plan to do exhaust soon . I don't want to do forced induction so I'll stick with bolt ons .

Not an LS6... you don't have an LS engine so none of that stuff matters to you. If you are going to do more mods than an air intake and a catback like headers or something you could wait to tune it until then. With the 5.3's though and how much bitching I read about them probably just tune it now. With my 8 speed truck I don't see it being worth it unless I do something major... Mine is far from acting "held back" lol and there is no real 8 speed support. Your trans is well supported and it should make a nice bump in feel with a bit more power.

A catch can is popular too and should help a bit... you have no fuel to wash the intake valves off so it will slow the coking process.

There is a pretty sweet looking front mount twin turbo kit that just came out for these which really has me pondering lol.

Volant cold air intake

also 1994vmax has a great point, a catch can is a great idea also. Both are very simple to install with basic hand tools.

I would do these and if you can exhaust then get your tune done. No sense is paying for a tune on a stock truck when your buying mods.
