Default 5.3 heads and cam

Just a question to see what you guys think a good cam and head set up is for a 5.3. As far as the cam i would like something that is driveable not too much lift, but not too mild somewhere in the middle. would you suggest the stock heads with some work ie: ported polished etc.. or go ahead and replace both heads? Also while I started this question what do you suggest running as pistons, flat or domed? And what would you say are some good quality piston sets for the dollar I dont wanna sink tons into em. Thanks

220/220 .566/.566 116 lsa heads milled .035-5 angle job and nothing over a stage 1 p/p slightly bigger valves, 2600 stall, full exhaust, intake, HP tuners, shift kit

Pistons depend on what compression you want if your gonna replace them might as well go at least stroked and do it right then its gonna change recommendations for h/c.

ok cool, what if I did go stroked what would you say then as far as recomendations for the cam and heads? Also would you recommend replacing the throttle body to a larger mm and also larger injectors? If so how much larger? Thanks again

For the money you would spend on heads/cam/pistons and rebuild I would just get a 6.0L and stick a cam in it. You will basically match the peak power of a higher compression 5.3L with heads/cam but have a bit more average power and it will cost you less in the long run. Trust me
