Default 5.3 Needing more power

Im new to these motors and have been doing some research on what wakes them up a bit and found that cams do the trick. But what kinda cams is good for a dd? I will be running a stock stall so nothing to radical. And Ive been looking into headers and wanted to run longtubes but read that they was a pain to install. Is this true? My mods currently are 2.5in catback exhaust, x pipe, flowmaster 10 dumped before axle and a airaid cia. I was going to install the airaid tb spacer but heard it was no good. Im going with blackbear to tune my truck and after that is headers but dont know what to get. Any help is much appreciated.

Installed my LPP headers in 1.5 days on a 10 degree garage floor with a friend helping.

Not too bad, unless a manifold bolt breaks.

can't answer on a cam for stock stall... I'm still looking for a cam myself.

Lots of people running cams without a stall. Is it the best choice not a chance. I would suggest going with the previously mentioned 212/218 or something close to that. I have seen a lot of people happy with 220/220, 216/220 and 220/224 cams without a stall.

A higher stall isnt out of the picture but I need a cam that will still work with the stock stall until I can get one. Who makes some good cams for the 5.3s? And I know I will have to change the valve springs and push rods. But is there anything else that needs changed? And I have seen some pacesetter quick trip lts for 318 shipped. Any info on these headers?
