5.3 stroker
#2
You can bore it out to stock LS1 bore and then throw in a 4" stroke crank and you'll get an iron block 382. Someone here did it. Just a 4" stroke with a stock 5.3 bore yeilds 366 I think, which is barely larger than a stock 6.0, plus I don't know if anyone makes stroker pistons for 5.3s.

I did it but bored out the block to 3.905" ( from 3.78" ). You can get the pistons custom made but the blocks will take the bigger bore without any issue and open up lots more parts options. Most folks are gonna tell you to go with the 6.0L motor and stroke it to 402 ci. SDPC makes a short block for a very decent cost, not much more than what you might pay doing the work on the 5.3/4. motors.
BTW the bore size is the exact same on the 4.8 and 5.3L, only difference is stroke. Keep that in mind if looking for donor motors.

Lunetti makes low compretion pistons, stroker kit and everyy thing now for a ls1 style motor. I know you can bore it over to make it a 350 with the stock crank, if interested i could look up what the size was.
