Default 5.3 throttle body porting?

HI, new member. Sorry if this question was already asked. but I did search a bit and didnt find anything specific

I have a 2003 silverado, 2wheel, 5.3 engine. was thinking of installing a ported throttle body. or trying to find a larger one. keeping in mind that my '03 is drive by wire, no cable

I want to know
#1, does anyone notice any power increase from this?
#2, anyone know someone who sells them or ports them?
I can only find the bbk ones for over $350

also, any input on a throttle body spacer? any difference, good/bad? I see one from afe for $95, but I was wondering if there is any power or gas mileage increases

thanks all!

Don't waste your time or money on a spacer

gmtrucks
shaner sells ported throttle bodies for like 125 plus a 150 core charge. ive heard that you gain a little bit, you should be able to feel a difference. and as youngbuck said, dont buy a throttle body spacer...theyre pointless.
I hate those ppl that buy them just for the "sound"...

TB spacers don't really do crap on efi.

Got a Dremmel? PNP your own for $5 and 2 or 3 hours time. Did mine on my current and last truck. noticeable difference in throttle response. Imo if you aren't going FI there's no real need to buy a larger one

Do you have any tips, tricks, or hints on what to do & what not to do? Thanks!

I disagree with that. There's plenty to gain with a larger throttle body.

When I was just intake, 93 tune and magnaflow, I gained 4rwhp over 3500rpm with a ported TB. I lost 3rwhp below 3000rpm (2 pulls on unported with less than a hp difference between the two pulls, done 15 minutes apart, then 15 minutes later with the ported TB). I did mine with a dremel and various grits of sandpaper for finishing. Came out really nice and only took 2 hours. I would definitely not pay anyone to port it for a 4rwhp gain at the expense of 3rwhp down low.

I have a Shaner TB on my truck. I noticed a slight difference, not sure if it's worth the money, but there are some small gains there.

I think so too. I went from the stock 78 to a NNBS 87mm on my LQ4 and it made a huge difference.
