Default 5.3 torque mods??

i have posted about this before, but ill try again.
i have a 04 gmc ecsb 4x4 with a 5.3 and 3.73 rear, and i have installed a transgo kit with a vette servo.i am totally inimpressed with bottom end performance[below 3500]i think a yugo could kick my *** to the 60' mark.does anyone have any proven mods that help low end performance or is this just the way these LS engines are?
anyone try advancing the stock cam timing?iam afraid to try a larger camshaft, thinking this will move the power band up even further.
anyone try milling the heads to increase compression?
i have tryed PCM mods with total torque management removed and after all the hype of doing this, the improvement was hardly noticeable. is my truck a freak?i do not want a higer stall converter, that is just a crutch.
HELP!!

did you remap your timing tables and fuel when you tuned it. did you take out all tqm. arent there like 5 tables i think. oh yay it is an 04. you need to do a search and find where parish fixed the throttle plate closing at wot. you may have done all this but just checking.

Electric fan(s). Check my sig. It made a very nice improvement in throttle response and low end.

hey 02denali,what is this about throttle plates closing?need more info?i cant answer your question on the timing and fuel tables, allen told me his tune was for 100% TQ managemant removed.did not improve low end at all,not even a little.from 3500-5500 it did feel stronger.
kwkshift,i have thought about fans but have yet to try anything.
