Is this truck an electronic throttle body or cable driven? Probably cable since it's a 2000. If it's electronic, it may be the throttle body itself, at the dealer we have replaced several of them for stalling concerns. If it's cable, there is a procedure we can do at the dealer where we install a small plug in the orifice in the throttle blade, then adjust the throttle plate open slightly to prevent future sticking concerns. You must install the fixed orifice pcv valve if you do this though.

This is cable driven. When I took it to the dealer, they couldn't duplicate the problem. They cleaned the throttle body, and it did it again the next morning.

Thanks again for those who have given advice. Any other possibilities?

7/2: He bought some TB cleaner at O'Reilly and will clean the IAC. BTW,the maint. manual says be very careful what you use and how you clean the pintle, etc. and not to immerse things. I guess carb/choke cleaner is bad.
