Default 5.3cr vs 6.0cr

hey guys im new to the site and have a ? I have a 87 buick grand national and i am taking out the 6cyl. for a 5.3 or a 6.0... The engine is going to have stock internals for now with a turbo. can you tell me the the stock compression ratios between the two and which one you would recommend. I will be upgrading in the future just not in the budget now. Thanks Curt

they can both handle boost with ease. Go with a 6.0

If your worried about breaking the internals... don't. just change the rod bolts and give it hell.
people run over 1000rwhp on the stock crank. How much boost you looking to run?

The LQ4 6.0L is 9.4:1. The common LM7 5.3L is 9.5:1.

If shooting for the 11's is your goal it will take a good deal less boost to get there with the LQ4. Have at it.

I'm all for performance, but are you insane? Unless that car is beat to a pulp you got a classic worth alot of jingle, like 20k and up in good shape just like it sits...your car I know, but wow...
