5.3L - stock(ish) truck questions
For you 5.3L guys w/ the stock 191/190 camshaft. What have you guys found to be the ideal shift point settings?
I think peak, even though it is relatively flat, is around 5500rpm. With a 300 rpm extension, I'm thinking a 5800 1-2 shift might possibly be ideal.
Now, what about the 2-3 shift? Right at peak hp?
I managed a 5.9 0 - 60 w/ a 2.3 60' with a 6,000rpm 1-2 shift. - exhaust & cai ----> G-Tech meter
If I stall it to 1500rpm & w.o.t. after that, I get no traction. I've found best to do a medium pace stomp from idle. How do you guys come off the line on street tires?
penny for your thoughts... on this or related.
