Screw ebay. I got a 6.0 longblock with 18K miles on it for $1500 delivered. I see them go for less sometimes. Ebay sells those for so much because they are pull outs with 5 miles on em. Who cares? Find one on this board with less than 20K and pay less than half.

P.S. Post a WTB 6.0L in the classifieds and see what you get. Some guys on here know where to get the same 5 mile pullouts for less than 2K, sometimes with a tranny attached

I've been told it could run mid to upper 14's bone stock. Of course, it's not gonna be stock. A few bolt on goodies can add 70+ ponies, and knock down ETs.
3800lb raceweight would be tough to do on a RCSB unless you are planning on stipping it down to frame and driving with remote control LOL

Most run about 15.2-14.9 at best that I have seen. It took a custom tune and some quick weight reduction to get my 4.8L to 14.9 stock.

I don't know your budget and don't know what u really looking for but i know u can get alot of a 5.3.i went 12.59 with a stock motor with a cam,no head work,i think i took mine out a little to soon and didn't get all out that i could of. flyer ran 11.9 something with a 5.3 and a s/c.that is respectable to me they have some on here that has put the lsx to the test and still possibly get more. i am going to get ZR026's truck in the lower 12.s after the tune.
i have help a friend put a lt1 in a 67 camaro he is running 9.5s his best is 9.35 but this is a back 1/2 car and not on the street.
both motor r good but the lsx is a little better, and u can build a budget stroker for around 4000.lt1 is around the same.so it is realy a money thing what do u want to spend and how fast do u want to go.

Heres what i want- 500 to 550 whp- Single turbo- v8- Daily driven - automatic transmission- okay gas mileage ( think i got it figured out w/ 3.02's)- run the quarter mile in low 12's..... Do you think high 11's and low 12's are possible w/ 550whp in a truck that weighs 3700lbs?

Turbo'd V8, A4 & 3.02s? I'd really look to shrinkin' those gears to at least 3.73s. With a 4L60E (hypothetically speaking) and 3.73s, your RPMs @ 70 mph would be around 2100. Anyone disagree? My GM's RPMs @ 70 mph (w/ 3.42s) are roughly 1800 (w/ the 4L60E).

You still haven't said what year and model truck you have. If it's a 99-06, you'd be a fool to put an LT1 in it, even if it was given to you. You do realize these year trucks came with LSx based engines from the factory, right? It would cost you more than a 6.0 to get the LT1 in there and working.

My guess, if he's stating that his truck weighs 3700lbs, would be he's got an "S-10 type" or a "Blazer type" truck. What's the weight of an 99' & up RCSB? I've heard that NBS trucks are a couple hundred lbs heavier than OBS trucks. OBS trucks (RCSB) weigh b/t 3600 -3800 (reported posts on different forums). Can someone give actual numbers?

*edit*
Judging from past posts (11-20-05), he's got an '02 Blazer that he considered squeezin' an LS1 motor in. Only he can confirm though. Just found thread he started on last month.

FWIW, I paid $1000 for my 6.0 Complete from intake to oil pan. Minus the alt., and A/C compressor, and starter. For the $250 extra, I have more torque, better milage, and more power. I dont think you would go wrong eigther way, but I think you can squeese a lot more out of a 6l. Or even a 5.3 would be better than a LT1. Hell pick up a 4.8 for about $250, cam and s/c or turbo, and be done with it.
