3.02 will be fine with a v8 and turbo.

Sure, he can run 3.02s w/ what he's looking to upgrade to. Just hard to fathom that someone, who's goal is to put down 500rwhp, wouldn't want to skate his vehicle down the 1/4 mile as quick as possible. That's like me build a 12s truck, and keeping my 2.73s.

Why not maximize your potential? Why not make it easier to move the weight? Might as well be .

its for gas mileage reasons...... And again would a 6.0 fit 5.7L motor mounts? Do they use a 4L80E-

DO 6.0L HANDLE BOOST WELL AND CAN THEY HANDLE 500+ hp easily on stock bottom end?

Do you understand that turbos don't like low gears? They are much different than blower or N/A cars. Maybe you should be asking what size tire he plans on running

I remember what he said about boost. Thinking if he's got something that weighs 3700lbs, even a 5.3 w/ the right bolt-ons can put him in the 12s w/o boost. Now, given his response here...

... I can see his reason behind taller gears. If he's dead set on boost, taller gears would suit best. Just putting other options out there. I like to present different angles, and let people make choices that they see best. That's what I wanted when I was shopping for the right swap. If low 12s are the best he expects, then he'll be grinnin' cuz a 6.0 w/ boost (built right) should get him there and quicker. Litreddevil & I are expecting low 12s outta the 5.3 I'm mounting soon. I spent way less than what I expected for what I'm getting.

so it is realy a money thing what do u want to spend and how fast do u want to go.
Again... I'm just putting other options out there. Seems like 02Vortech's still in the research phase.

If you've got a high stall, and a powerful drivetrain, there's nothing wrong with tall gears. That just means you'll hook up better.

For example, an A4 LS1 with a 3000 stall will beat an M6 LS1, all other things being equal. Don't be afraid to go with 3.09s or even 2.73s, there are plenty of 2.73 people doing 12s and high 11s out there.

As long as it's not a freeway race
