5.3s in old trucks
Gee guys what happen to all the old truck builders out there. Seems like all you guys hop up new or fairly new trucks. I am doing a ground up building on a 1972 chevy p.u. swaping in a 5.3 vortec and overdrive trans.
Anyone care to show some input. Ordered the conversion mounts. But looking for a company that makes 5.3 headers for the 72. Also thinkin of changing the intake to a LS-1 if it will fit and help. Any ideas on a hi-output cam. Its a weekend driver, automatic with stall torque converter. Thanks !!!!

i am currently doing a 5.3 swap on my 81 c10. I would like to find a set of headers for that.
Street and performance makes a set of headers for the 72 style truck i am pretty sure.

I would like to help you out with headers but frankly dont know what will fit.I just started work for a custom header manufacturer.we do custom work for people who bring thier truck in but if you cant,We still have all the flanges and stuff.maybe you can get a set of Ls1 headers cheap and modify them.if you dont like the way they come out then we can copy them and make a nice set.good luck--Todd
