Default 6.0 in a 04

I right now have a 2004, with a 4.8, rcsb, could I swap out my little motor for a LQ4 and it's ECM? or buy a harness, hack it up and then make it work? or just buy a already made harness? 4l60E is my trans too.

Swap and tune. No need to hack or change anything. All you accessories from the 4.8 will work on the 6.0. Wiring harness as far as engine is concerned is the same.
Your PCM from the 4.8 will work, just need a re-tune for the 6.0

Start saving for a transmission and you're GTG

As long as it has the 317 heads. So anything from 2000 on up. I think they made some changes in 02, so I'd look for 02 or newer, but wouldn't pass a good deal on anything with the aluminum heads

If you're looking at newer 6.0's they don't have the spacer. Just use your flex plate off the original engine.
If the donor truck had a 4l80 transmission, and you're using the 60, you'll have to reflash the PCM for the transmission controls.
IMO I'd just use the PCM you have now assuming the last 3 digits are 311 (I think that's them. Maybe 411)
also the PCM interfaces with the BCM so there may be some issues using the donor PCM.
To get the best out the motor, you really need a custom tune. Anyone who tunes it should be able to flash a 6.0 tune over what you have.
