6.0 to 408
i have a 6.0 short bolck tha I want to turn into either a 383 or a 408. which do you guys recommend and how much do i have to bore the 6.0 to work. oh and which kit is the best all around for these strokers. thanks for the info.

the 383 is for a overbore LS1, not a 6.0 bore. in other words with a 6.0 block as a starting point, the 383 is a no go. 402 or 408 or bigger is the only options. for a 408, it needs bored .030 over.
on the stroker kits, the price goes up with the quality of it.

Just do a 402 or 408. Its whats in the market right now and really isn't that expensive for what you get in return

yes a 6.0-based stroker is either a : stock bore+4"stroker crank=402, 0.030 overbore+4"stroker crank=408

BTW, the reason you see so many 6.0 blocks go to 4.00 stroke is the "square" ideal. 4.0x bore, 4.00 stoke is a torque monster (because of the 4" 'square' according to the theory -- they say 3.75, 3.75 would also be torqueier than a 3.75x3.62 etc.)
It's also the largest "easy" stroke for these blocks and rod combos.
