ok because what i'm trying to figure out is why you have to have a crank spacer for the 4l80e to bolt to a 4.8 but can bolt a 6.0 to a 4l60e

Check out Automotice Rebuilder, they seem to explain the difference between 4.8, 5.3, 5.7, 6.0 pretty good.

When I did my swap I seem to recall that if the 6.0 was older than 02 I would have to use a crank spacer, but since it was out of an 04 I didn't have to.

it would do much better for you to pull the 60 and sell it instead of using it temp, which would probably break it. hold out until the 80 if you can?

Leave out the spacer, use your 4.8 flexplate and bolts.Do a vette servo and a shift kit and you will be fine for a long time unless your the kind of guy that can destroy an anvil.Guys running 12s can make a 4L60 live with a shift kit and a servo.

Q:42Lb injectors are not really needed on a N/A are they?
