Default 6.0 cam

just want your opinions on this new cam before i install it. i have 3400 stall, full exhaust on an lq9 with 226cc 243cast heads. mind you these cams are gound on a less agressive lobe than most of comps. the first one i was going to do was a 226/234 .600@113 and after talking to the company they said that was an extremely mild cam. i decided against it. and we went with a 228/228 .605 @110. thoughts? i was concerned about the lsa being too low but i guess it all depends on the advance on the cam? im told its the same torque and rpm range as a 224/@112lsa. they said it would be the same overlap as a 228/234 .605@112. i was concerned about tuning and daily drivability and reliability. ready go....

The 228/234 sounds pretty mean. I really like that one.

yeah i was basing the 228/228 off the every popular 228r. just less aggressive lobes, tighter lsa and slightly higher lift. the only thing tht concerns me is the 110lsa. i want more torque down low. 0-60 is more important than top speed. i mostly drive through town stop and go. so making more down low would be beneficial i would think

226/234 has too much split for a cathedral port head.
228 single pattern on a 110 would be very choppy but bring power in early. Narrow powerband though.
228/234 doesn't sound too bad. I would like a bit more intake duration myself in a 6.0L.

My suggestion would be a Torquer 2 on a 113. 232/234 .595/.598 113 LSA. Should offer good drive-ability with a good tune, yes still have a noticeable idle.

I called a lot of companies asking their opinions and I got complelty different answers each time Lol. I was thinking 226/232 on .600 at 112. Should have done that. But I got this cam coming. Figured keep power low because its going to be stop and go back and forth to work as my dd. Keep lift lower for longevity. These are less aggressive lobes and depending on advance should be relatively mild and tuneable. I hope. Being tuned by east coast supercharging. Pretty sure they know what they are doing. Waiting for my heads from advanced induction

Are those advanced Induction heads? I know someone who is selling an Advanced Induction cam... 226/230 on a 111.

His single cab had 11's in it with those same heads. It sounded healthy, but also had great manners. He pulled it out to go with a better cam for his procharger.

Yes they are ai heads. I want all new parts. What would really be the difference between these cams anyway? Prob wouldn't notice much of a difference.

You wouldn't notice much difference at all. I think the slightly more exhaust duration would allow it to carry power higher in the RPM range by a little bit.

The first cam has 8* overlap, while the second also had 8*, so despite the wider LSA they will idle very much the same.

Peak power would be at a lower RPM with the first cam and it would be slightly more 'peaky', but overall they would be very similar assuming they have the same advance etc... Personally I like a little bit of split on the 6.0 and larger which have a bigger intake valve than the smaller engines.

You don't have any interest in the 226/230? with your 3400 converter it would be an absolute street burner.
