6.0 cam choice

I wouldn't run a 224 in a 6.0 with a factory stall speed converter, even my baby cam in my 5.3 benefited from a higher stalled converter. Yes, you can run it that way, but the setup won't be optimized...get a matching converter and get yourself up into the meat of the powerband faster.
Zippy had the 224 in his LQ4 tahoe, stock everything and it ran great and no one could tell it wasn't the bone stock 5.3.

Hey guys I'm putting a 6.0 from an 03 escalade in place of my 4.8 in my 01' silverado. I got sum 243 heads to put on it. I want some opinions on what cam to use... i would like to put a Z06 cam in. but i don't know if that's a good idea??? I want to shoot for 400hp. Is this possible? Is there a better stock option?
p.s. sorry if this has been threaded be for. For some reason my search hasn't worked for a couple days. It just says no matches...???

I'd run at least a 230s cam. With the compression bump, you will have plenty of torque. Id also get those heads worked, bigger injectors, and a tbss intake
Man, its easy to spend people's money...lol

'03 rscb. Basic cammed lq9. Pacesetter LTs, Full 3" exhaust, 4" cai, 25% udp, 42lbs maggie injectors, tbss intake and a built up 4l60e. Still running 3.42s and 32" tires that came on the truck.
Im running a vig 2800 out of a fbody. Its on the low side, but I want something that runs good on the street, not real interested in track times. It came with the transmission

Bud, it will actually work better than you think. Trust me. The 224 is very mild in the 6.0. It won't be ideal for performance compared to a mild 3000 stall, but then again, a 3000 stall won't hold a candle to a 4000 stall for performance either. Any cam can benefit from a stall, even the stock cam!
