Default 6.0 Heads On 4.8?

My Buddy Wants My 6.0 Heads When He Does His Cam Swap. I Got A Set That Have Been P&p And Shaved .010. How Much More Would He Need To Shave Them To Make Good Power With A 4.8?(if Need To Be Shaved More) He Wants To Match The Cam With These Heads. I Just Want To Know If He Will Get More Power Over The Stock Heads With These. His Goal Is To Get His 4.8 In The 13's N/a.

They just wont work. your compression will fall all to hell and the bore sizes are completely different

im with zzebes on this one....your compression will fall because the cc chambers on those 6.0 heads are bigger than on the 4.8 heads, not to mention those heads are meant for a much larger 5.7 or 6.0 bore size.....trust me i know i cant fit 6.0 heads on my 5.3 unless i bore it to fit 5.7 pistons......my advice is to take your stock 4.8 heads and have them ported and polished, match a cam with those and you should get 13's just fine....

Not to highjack the thread, but would 241 casting ls6 heads work on a 4.8 liter?

That's not true, there have been several guys put stock 317 6L heads on 5.3's (have same bore as 4.8) in forced induction applications on here to lower compression so they can run more boost.

its my understanding that you cant because the valves are too big. you will have to bore it out for those heads
