With the magnacharger I made 343rwhp/364rwtq with 1200 miles and bone stock except for the blower. If i had to do it again I would do the same thing. If you are interested in one send me a PM.

Thanks 1blown04.
BTW, how much boost do you see?

Found numbers on stock 5.3l w/basic sts turbo package.

#1 -- 324 rwhp / 373 rwtq --basic sts @ 6psi, 2001 5.3L

#2 -- 343 rwhp / 364 rwtq --stock 5.3 w/ radix, 2004 5.3L

#3 -- the lq9 option has been ruled out on the basis of availabitly and install work required vs moderate gains. Besides, forced induction is way cooler (I know, it sounds childish).

Now I just need to find out how much boost a stock 5.3L can take? No meth, with and without an intercooler.

I have an 01 5.3 with a radix. On about 5 lbs of boost I seen 370 rwhp and 390 rwtq. I had a messed up exhaust system, (worse than stock) and had a larger pulley 3.6 inch because of the exhaust. With the new exhaust, headers, and the 3.4 pulley ( 6.5 lbs of boost), I'm probably closer to 400 rwhp now.

Its all about your future plans are?

If you want more HP/TQ in the future I'd do Cubic Inches!

If you build a decent 408 or 427 your rwhp should be around 400-450's and then you have options after that to increase HP.......

Just an FYI... I made 433rwhp and 455rwtq from my stock SS 6.0L with Radix and a Cam. Now doing a built 427.....

Without an intercooler or meth I think youd be hardpressed to get more than 7#. You would also net substantially less power due to the heat of the compressed air going into the engine (more heat= less air). With a good intercooler and tune a 5.3 could probably handle quite a bit of boost. Seems the turbo guys are able to push more (or have the ability to push more) boost into them.

I would go wtih the 5.3 and the sts. You jsut need to install a meth kit on their dual stage controller and you an adjust, so on the street dicking around your running 5lbs but when it get's aerious turn it up to 8-10lbs and the meth willkick in and all is good. You will easily see a huge increase.

if i recall, bryan from pcmforless got 380rwhp in his silverado SS (front driveshaft taken out) out of his LQ9 with only head and cam work being major mods. 400rwhp out of an LQ9 is very achievable and the option i'd go with.

Was that on a stock 5.3 or was your motor modded already? 1blown04 made 343 rwhp / 364 rwtq with only the radix, if you made 370 rwhp / 390 rwtq that is a big difference between 2 stock 5.3l engines.
