Default 6.0 oil pan

I have this question posted on LS1Tech, only one response. Hopefully someone over here knows the answer. Will an oil pan from a 2005 6.0 fit on a 2002 6.0? Different part numbers. Since this pan will have to be modified to clear the steering linkage on my 1955 Chevy, my main concern is correct fit to the block. Pickup tube will also have to be modified.

The bolts on the pan and the block will line up. I am not sure what may have changed between the part numbers, maybe a sensor location or pickup maybe? Is your 2005 6L an LS2 or iron truck block?

The engine is a 2002 6.0 iron block. I had heard that there was a shield (?) added for the low oil sensor. Doubt that it would affect fit.
