Re: 6.0 swap ?
is your truck an 03 if it is i wouldn't void the warranty so soon but if you want to i'd get a blower first then a bigger motor but be ready to have cash because your tranny won't last long with any kind of power

Re: 6.0 swap ?
A 6 liter would be cheaper than a blower. It probably won't make as much power as a good blower would though. Personaly, I would go for the Magna or ATI systems since they are intercooled instead of a whipple. If you live in a cold climate, the whipple will be OK.
If you swapped in a 6 liter with a stealthy cam, a dealer would never know and would probably still warranty the transmission. The more obvious mods you do, the less likely a dealer service department will help you on your waranty claims.
There was a whipple for sale in the clasifieds a few months back. New, from a sponsor, sitting around the shop. It was supposed to be complete and I think he wanted around $3K at the time. I dont remember it selling. Seller was LG. http://www.lgmotorsports.com/

6.0 swap ?
What kind of money is it to put a 6 liter in my truck? Does the gain justify the cost? Would I be better off putting a blower on the truck? Has any one seen a new Whipple for sale for less than 4K?

Yeah, if you have a new truck drive it as a new one! Just begin with bolt ons.
Cold Air
Ported TB
Cat Back

Programmer of some sort - depending on the one you go with, you can also go with a GMS MAF meter.

Re: 6.0 swap ?
i like the 6.0 idea, along with a yank3000 and i think you will be where a whipple would put you on a 5.3. better yet do both along with a little nitrous .
i agree with big tex, i doubt the dealer would ever know if you droped in a 6.0 and they are prety cheap, under 2k.

Re: 6.0 swap ?
Hello Parish8, nice video. Will the 6.0 drop under my stock heads, intake, etc? What is your opinion on the yank 3000 vs 3200? I will never tow anything, I will hit the 1/4 ten times a year and I mainly want something to have fun with on my 10 mile stop and go trip to work.

Re: 6.0 swap ?
I forgot to ask, will I have any electronic issues with the 6.0 swap and if it will transfer over with no issues, can you supply me with a single GM number that is the assembled lower end. Whoever helps me will get a smokin' deal on a 2k mile 5.3 short block.

Re: 6.0 swap ?
that 2k was for a complete low mile used 6.0, you want a complete longblock, the 6.0 has great heads. seems like i have seen some new longblocks going for around $3000 but no idea who it was that had them. you need a 2001 or new 6.0 longblock. if it has iron heads on it it's not a 2001 or newer.
the only tuning i did was up the idle 50rpm, it seemed like it was going to die. since then i did alot of tuning but that is the only thing i felt that it needed to run great, the stock computer has the apility to learn and adjust for alot, may take a few days for it to learn though. i would definately get ls1 edit and a scan tool if your looking at a blower on a 6.0 in the future.
as far as the converter, this yank3000 is the only converter i have ever had on any vehicle ever so i am not the best judge for wich would be better. this thing just rips out of the hole with a 3000, i wouldn't go any smaller but bigger just might be faster, who knows.
