Default 6.0 swap in cali? emissions?

anyone done a 6.0 swap in cali? if so what did you have to do to still pass smog? i want to be sure i can get it passed legally before i start spending all this money on an engine. I'm thinkin LS2 with cam, heads, springs, stall, built 65e and get it all tuned. Lookin to get close to 400 at the wheels if i can. Also i think dynatech makes a longtube set with y pipe that has cats in it and holes for o2 sensors. They are kinda expensive but would be a nice addition to the 6.0. Could i take my stock sensors and just stick them in those holes and have it pass? plus i had a guy tell me the state has to sign off on a motor swap first before they will let you smog it. Anyone know about this? im hoping someone has done this cause i dont wanna have to supercharge it cause i could do the engine swap and tranny with everything for most likely less. Thanks in advance for any help anyone gives.

The smog guys won't know the difference on engine size just by looking at the block, so there's no need to tell them any different. The item that's going to impact your test the most is camshaft choice along with the proper tune. Get those two things right and you'll pass no problem.

No way to tell 100% but if I was betting man, Id bet the ranch that you'd pass no probem with a stock LS2

The only sure way to tell the differences between the Gen III/IV small blocks is to decipher the casting numbers on the block. Translation: You're good to go as long as its tuned good enough to pass Cali's sniffer.
