Default 6.0 w/ Radix help

I want to put a Radix on my 5.3. I have heard that I can get around 10lbs. of boost from that.
I also was thinking of putting a 6.0 in it with a Radix, but I read that with a 6.0, you can only get around 7lbs. of boost.

What does this mean? Will the 5.3 w/Radix make more torque since it has more boost?

Also, is it worth the $$ putting a 6.0 in there? How much gain will the 6.0w/Radix give me over a 5.3w/Radix??? I am trying to achieve 450 hp.

Also, I would be putting all of my mods in my sig on the 6.0.

Don't waste your time with the 5.3L. I wish I hadn't.

For just a little more $$$ than a Radix will cost you, I bet Allen @ FMS could hook you up with a nice forged-internals 408 that would get you close to 450 RWHP, which you will never see with a 5.3l (blown or not). He's just down the road from you in Walker, LA.

I was seeing 10 psi with the LQ4 and the Radix.

Why go through the labor of a big cubic inch motor if you dont want to.

Who said he didn't want to? From what I read, he doesn't have a problem swapping motors.

BTW, what were you getting HP/TQ-wise w/the 5.3L + the Radix at 10 psi Brian?

Also, curious, how long did that motor/tranny last?

I was running 12.5's with my RADIX'd 5.3 at 7psi. You do the math and that will bring you to 400-425 hp with my weight (4200 lbs).

Now that I have the 80e in, last time I went I was running 12.7's at 4340 lbs. I was also getting 8* of KR from some exhaust pipes banging as soon as I would launch and again on the 2-3 shift. I've read somewhere that in a worse case scenario, 1* of timing in a blown motor can be around 12hp. That was running 8-9 psi too.

My motor is still running strong. It's seen a LOT of abuse and still looks like new on the inside. I'm spinning it up to 6500 and have not yet done anything to the bottom end.

The trans was all due to some PCM problems I was having. If you want a run down of details on how I came to that conclusion, fine, I'll give it to you, but I'm not getting into it right now.

If I remember Brian's truck got a 1.6x 60' time and broke the output shaft on the 1-2 shift. This was due to way to much shift when the shift kit was installed. If it would have been from raw power, it would have broken the shaft on launch.

How is you're 5.3/60e combo holding up? Any motor/trans problems yet? You're in a really heavy vehicle too, so you should have them before any of us.

Flyer - Are you saying 400-425 RWHP? If so, the math says 160-185 RWHP on top of the stock (pre-2004) 5.3L output, and 150-175 RWHP on top of the 2004+ 5.3L output. All this from a Radix? No cam or heads? What size pulley were you running?

I babysit my setup pretty well. Most people who ride in my truck are unaware I have a blower. I am unaware, too, most of the time, unless I hit that part-throttle position where the whistle blows or where I hit boost. I plan on taking it very easy until I find the time/place to install my GMPP 4L65E and Transgo w/Vett servo. I want to be able to sell the stock 4L60E as fully functional and operational.

Still like to hear from Brian.
