Default 6.0l

What is the better 6.0 ? Lq4 or lq9 and why?
Looking to purchase one or the other and just want a heads up.
Going in a 04 rcsb.
Thanks

Depends what your planning to do with it. Forced induction I would go with lq4 for the lower compression ratio. Na I would go with lq9. The lq9 has flat top pistons and floating pins, and I think after 05 the lq4 has the better pins too? Just my opionion, maybe some one with more knowledge will comment as well

Probably because he doesn't want to deal with the Gen IV versus Gen III changes.....

Whichever one you get cheaper being the LQ4, lol. People want a premium for LQ9's because of what they came from... Even though an 05 up LQ4 is part number for part number identical except for the pistons. Older LQ4's had the pressed pin rods.... but are still the same otherwise.

Find an LQ4 and if you want more compression dump on 243's.... Milling them if like 10.4:1 is too low. Done.

go for a low milage one if possible but it dosent really matter seems these engines run forever my DD has 170K runs like a charm. and if your going to run boost the LQ4 will better suit your needs look for a 05+ one they have the better rods

Mine had 170k when I started my build. It passed the leakdown test so bring it on!
First cash gets heads and mufflers and retune.
After getting bills caught up, of course.
