Default 6.0L blower motor rebuild???

New to this site so don't beat me up too bad. Posted this in the "Forced Induction" section but didn't a lot of responses..

Kinda of a general question here for you blower motor guru's...

I have a stock 6.0L motor in my 03 Chevy 2500HD that I put the Whipple 2.3L kit on. I've got about 60,000 miles on the motor total and 30,000 s/c miles on it and it runs strong but at 7 psi and pump gas I know I'm eventually going to have to rebuild the motor. I'll be pleased if it makes 100,000 but know it might not so I want to start planning for the future. So here's my question.....what would you guys do to this motor in the rebuild?? Keep in mind I still need to pass CA smog, sort of....if you know what I mean......I'd still like to run pump gas, premium is 91 octane out here.....and finally what should I be looking at spending for a quality rebuild/upgrade??

Punch it out to 400.....???..forged pistons....????.....8 to 1 compression...???....change the heads..???? ...cam???

Thanks,

Chris

i don't have all the answers but i would definatly punch it out. as large as you can get away with. then find a nice cam that likes FI and go from there. of course, beef up the tranny and rear. you should be in there.

might as well bore it .30 over and if money allows add a 4" stroke crank. at your boost levels i'd try to keep compression around 9.2:1 at a minimum or higher. there is no reason at all to cut the compression that low unless you plan on running 14psi or more of boost.

Thanks Brandin,

I think we're picking up the new ride early next week, then we'll come see ya. Who did the work on the Vette for ya? I need to find someone in SoCal I can trust. Whipple did the re-tune on the ECM for me when I was up there but never on the dyno, I'd like to find someone who can do both for me locally, or at least closer than Fresno.
