While I was shopping for a new 04 2500 Crew Cab. The dealer has 2 great deals on a 2003 6.0L 2500 Burban and a 2003 8.1l 2500 Yukon. Both are
similiarly equipped being both are LT. Which would u guys take the 6.0l or the 8.1l?

 

8.1. fuel milage isn't that much different and it's hard to beat the extra power. what's the gear?

 

That I will have to look into. I was just concerned over the 8.1l using too much oil. I have a sidemount Magnacharger that I hope will fit on the 6.0l if I decide to go that way.

 

6.0L all the way the 8.1 is a dinosaur.

 

the 01' and 02's had alot of problems with using oil, the newer one's aren't as bad.

 

I have a 6.0 in my truck and wish every day that I had an 8.1. The extra torque would be very nice, especially offroad and towing. The saying there is no replacement for displacement is true.

 

I went from a 2001 6.0 Suburban to a 2002 8.1 Suburban. I'm very happy with the choice!

6.0 - more mods out there for less $$, better gas mileage, and plenty of power stock. If you tow a bunch, and you want to leave it stock, then definately go for the 8.1. If you plan on modding at all though, then don't bother.

 

I would be willing to bet a SC 8.1 could eat a SC 6.0. Mod for mod an 8.1 will beat a 6.0.

 

8.1 all the way. there is a quite a bit of stuff coming out for it right now
