Talking 6.0L LQ4 is in and Running

I got my 6.0 installed a couple of weeks ago. To my wifes suprise nothing has gone wrong yet, besides the crank pulley for the whipple comming loose during a tuning session. Allen was trying to prep me for buying a new tranny the way it sounded.

The performance difference is most noticable down low, and it made a HUGE difference.

For anybody thinking about this conversion - DO IT!!! There were zero problems with the swap. The only small snags, and I mean really small, came when hooking up the fule lines and a vacuum fitting on the new intake manifold.

Engine Swap Diary

I did loose 1.5 psi of boost in the swap. I guess the bigger motor just breathes a little better. I'll be searching for some smaller whipple pulleys to play with really soon and then getting some track times.

No Dyno results or track times yet. I'll probably have both by the end of the month, but my predictions are 410hp at the wheels and 13.5 Quarter.

You are going to love your motor when you get it in!

Did you motor have the longer crank? If so there were no issues with this?

I don't know if it had the longer crank or not, but there were zero issues. The motor and transmission mated seamlessly.

the 6.0 needs to be 2001 or newer to work.

6.0 swap is one of my favorite mods.

6.0, stall, nitrous

how much boost are you seeing with that whipple now? i wouldn't go over 7psi without an intercooler or alchol injection.

I am seeing right at 4psi at WOT. I wanted to run between 6-8psi, but don't don't want to blow anything up either. I know I'll probably need a tranny before to long and will probably do a stall at the same time. I have to be a little careful, because I tow a 5000lb trailer constantly.
