6.0l > lsx376
Hello, everyone. Brand new member here, and somewhat new to LS engines as well. I have a 2006 2500HD with a 6.0L. I am hovering over the "checkout now" button to order an LSX376 to swap out the 6.0L with. I've decided before I do this that I should ask some questions...
1) Will my stock intake and ignition work with this engine, or do I need to change to LS3 parts?
2) Will my ECM work(with a tune), or will that need to be swapped?
3) I see the engine listed at 450Hp but does anyone know the torque figures? Nevermind, found this one.
4) Do any of you know if block modification would be required to swap in a stroker crank to this engine?
Thanks for any and all answers you guys can provide!

I've recently upgraded the truck to 37 inch tires - even after a gear upgrade, it seems to have lost some of it's grunt. Also, it's sitting at 108k miles as of now, and I never leave an engine alone once it hits 100k, so it's either build it or swap it. With the LSX376 only running $5k, it's definitely worthwhile to do that vs spending close to, or the same amount building the engine that's in the truck and having the truck down for a month or more while I wait for machining.

Obviously I was estimating a little when I said 5k, but I wasn't off by much. Does anyone have any actual answers or does everyone just want to argue?

Not many guys on here go the LSX route, we just throw a turbo or nitrous on a stock engine and go.. $5511 is quite a pretty penny, could do a turbo on your current engine and make well over 450hp.

Also with those LS3 heads,, your gonna have to get A intake and exhaust for it. since those wont work. plus injectors
Water pump and accessories will fit tho.
Ecm and wiring harness will work.. need an extension for the Cam sensor being on the front of the engine instead of rear.
Stroker crank should clear since, might wanna check with the crank manufacture on that one tho.

You're absolutely right, it would. But for how long? I'm not going to be "throwing a turbo" on an engine with over 100k miles on it when I didn't put 96k of those miles on it and don't know how it was treated. Also, for a truck, turbo isn't the best option, as you want the low end grunt. And my stock injectors won't work at all? That could be...expensive

I have plenty of low end grunt with the turbo on my truck...
I tow with it all the time.
And my engine has well over 100k miles.
Price out everything you need, intake, exhaust, wiring extension, injectors, tune, oil pan (if your not gonna use yours), oil pickup tube, and everything else your gonna need..
you might be suprised how fast that 5511 turns into 7000
