Also, not sure if you want to keep the EGR or not, but if not, you will need to swap your exhaust manifold on the passenger side or at least cap it off. My 6.0L came with manifolds and intake, and I didn't want the EGR crap anyway. My SES light came on for about a week until I had a friend remove it with his EFI software. If you use your 5.3 intake and exhaust manifolds, and EGR, I guess it would be easier. But if the 6.0 already has exhaust manifolds, or you plan on installing headers, this is a good time to get rid of that EGR junk.

The only "surprises" for me during the swap were the passenger fuel rail change that I had to do because of the balance tube and regulator, and the threaded inserts for the throttle cable bracket that weren't there. I also had to cap the vacuum port on my cable driven throttle body as the DBW intake has a vacuum port on it. I had to also get vacuum for my regulator from the other side of the manifold (passenger) which only meant a piece of vacuum line about 1' long. Nothing serious that couldn't be fixed right there in order to drive it home.

yeah for sure i did that on my 5.3 just got a frezze plug and stuck it in the intake and made a cover for the manifold, but i dont think that the 05s are running egr anymore, also sounds like that the 5.3 stuff will work but i think that putting worn out stuff on a new 6.0 would be kinda dumb. i was looking on ebay and found This what do you think.....

Id just use your 5.3 intake manifold, and get some newer injectors. In fact I have a set of 6.0 injectors somewhere Ill sell you. But there is no advantage to using the 05 intake manifold, except for the absence of the EGR port, but you already took care of that.

Also, IMO the Escalade engine is WAAAAAAAY over priced. When available I can usually pick them up for less than 30% of that.

There is a little more to it than that, I seriously looked into it when I got my FLT.

I agree, they are about that price NEW from GM or SDPC. I bought my LQ4 from Ebay for $2000 complete with wiring harness, alternator, starter, intake, injectors, water pump, plugs, wires, flywheel, throttle body, power steering pump, yada, yada, yada from here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/6000-...3771QQtcZphoto

I sold a bunch of the stuff and wound up recouping about $300, meaning I'm out about $1700 for a NEW engine, new waterpump, new hoses, new alternator, new starter, new.......
