I don't hate 'em, I just don't know what all the hype is about.

Should be running by lunch and then the tuning starts. I am waiting for the new mustang performance shop by my house to finish installing their new Dynojet dynomometer. We should have some numbers by the end of next week hopefully. Once everything is dialed in to perfection to the track it goes.

with how your talkin down on the 6.0 i think you will be really impressed..but that is a very small cam your sticking in.. with the heads and head work your having done a 23x duration and .6xx lift would be really nice.. i put my cam in sig on my 370 with some milled .030 243 heads the only time it actually hooked up and not spun it broke the output shaft on the trans..

I just don't want to think in my mind that it's going to be a super uber powerful motor and then be let down. It's better to be pessimistic and be surprised than to be optimistic and be disappointed

You do talk quite highly of big blocks. But there's no way that olds BB you drove has more power than the 8.1 BBC and even that doesn't put down all that great numbers. I think it's just the fact that it makes it's torque down so much lower.

Well...... I don't want to get too far off topic but I'll scan in the dyno sheet for the latest Olds 455 we built. It's a stock 1968 Blueprinted Hurst Olds engine. D casting heads (light port work) 10:1 compression, comp 224/230 cam. From idle to 3500RPM the torque is perfectly flat and starts at 502 ft lbs and goes up to 530 ft lbs, past 3500 RPM is drops slightly and by 4400RPM's it drops down to 490 ft lbs. By 5200 RPM's it's at 475 ft lbs of torque. The car runs as smooth as a new car, not lopey at all, at any speed under 60MPH when the TH400 kicks down the car will go sideways at will. I found out the other night that under WOT when it shifts into direct drive at 80MPH it will squeel both back tires with the 3.91 gears Torque is the name of the game. Can an 8.1L do that?

I'm talking stock vs. stock. The stock 6.0 will spank that 455.

I also wanted to let you know you're my hero.

I;m drunk

LoL! Time to go get everything finished up and see if it fires It better work since I just sold my car and the guy is picking it up tomorrow. Assuming there's no problems, vids to come later this afternoon/tonight. Stay tuned Oh and FWIW, a stock 1968 hurst olds engine was 390 HP and 500 ft lbs of torque. I don't think a stock 6.0L or even an LS2 could provide similar performance. It's about 100 ft lbs of torque shy lol. I'm sure the new 6.0L is going to be impressive for what it is but we're not going to find out unless I get my butt out there and finish.P We'll see you guys this afternoon and let you know.

It's definitely worth the swap when you consider how much power your putting down compare to how much fuel its sucking in compared to that BB.
and yea. those 455's didn't mess around when it came to tq.

them old engines were boat anchors. A cammed 6L with high compression will smoke any olds.
